We've kicked off our CTR staff BBQ season with an amazing meal of marinated chicken breasts, homemade salads, giant dill pickles and home made sweets for dessert. It was an amazing day! Sean Cann was our grill master and he did an incredible job! Thanks Sean!

We are hosting are 6th Annual Customer Appreciation and Open House Fundraiser on June 19th!!! Located at 986 Wall St, 11:00-2:00. We have three food trucks, popcorn, games, a huge silent auction, door prizes and all funds raised are going to the Children's Hospital Foundation. CTR has 3 different divisions. We have an Automotive / Industrial Supply Division, Northern Division and we also operate as a Carrier Transicold Dealer. CTR has 60+ employees and operates out of an 1,800-sq. foot facility in Winnipeg, MB. We pride ourselves on meeting and often exceeding customer service expectations by providing superior quality work, competitive pricing and timely service.

At CTR, our Pick Up/Delivery Drivers help the Company by picking up automotive and industrial parts from our warehouses, and bringing them to our valued customers. The successful candidate should have the following qualifications and skills:

-          Ability to consistently lift heavy (50lb) items

-          Clear driving record/abstract

-          Exceptional customer service skills and ability to foster relationships with our customers

-          Safety-focused mindset

-          Attention to detail

-          Knowledge of Winnipeg’s city roads

-          A positive attitude with the ability to work well with little or no supervision

We hosted our first ever SOUP Cookoff and it was amazing!! We had 7 entries and they were absolutely marvelous! In the past we've held Chili and Stew cook offs but this was our first go with soup. The big day was Valentine's Day, February 14th and as per usual our loyal customer's participated in the event which is a bonus for all!!

Congratulations to Jenn D, our accounting controller who took 1st place. She was awared with a plaque, (bragging rights!!!) and a Visa gift card for $150......great job Jenn! Her soup creation was a potato ham titled "Bowl Me Over" and it was fantastic!

Runner up: Terry K, our parts delivery driver took 2nd place. His soup was called "Don't Go BACON My Heart" (such a cool name for Valentine's day!) - you can't go wrong with BACON!

3rd Place: Wayne D, (also a parts delivery driver!) with  "Everyone in the Pool"

Great work to everyone!

Today was a great day at CTR! We did our annual Christmas Cheer Board hamper delivery! Great job to all who contributed! The donations were plentiful and the family was very happy to have our little elves at their door. On behalf of CTR, we would like to wish all the best to our customers, suppliers and partners for this holiday season. We appreciate all you do for us at CTR and we look forward to seeing you in the new year!

We are having our first ever stew cookoff! We are not new to cook offs though...over the years we've hosted three chili cook offs that have been a huge hit!

Today we have five entries, the entries are anonymous and the staff are the judges :) It's a great day and we are excited for lunch to arrive!!!

CTR Carrier Transport Refrigeration is in the midst of a Lean Transformation. We have introduced Lean Six Sigma in our shop and we are in the works to begin a similar transformation into our auto warehouse and operational systems.

Our wins for this project include:

-Lean Thinking and Implementation

-5S Projects ie: Process Changes and Standardization of: fuel, oil, freon, shop supplies, technician's scaffolds and tools, office SOP's and installation drawings.

We are excited to implement the world of lean. Every Thursday at 3:00 our group meets to review our progress, share our ideas, and celebrate our big wins! Great work done by our entire transport refrigeration Carrier team!!! It is the technicans that are bringing forth the ideas and setting these improvements into action. Good well done team! 

Our value circle includes a sector titled: Customer Focus. Our goal of Lean means we are servicing our customers in an absolute efficient manner. We provide a value added experience and focus on customer's needs every step of the way.

CTR Northern is shipping 6 sea cans up North this year. We are shipping building supplies, oil, automotive parts, industrial and shop products, food, heaters, tires, power tools and accessories, drills, hand tools, jacks, safety boots and gloves, lighting and electrical supplies, doors, hardware, hose, wire, ice paint, stainless steal table tops, recreational supplies chemicals and lubricants, hydraulic pumps, copper piping for plumbing, AND MORE! Our goal is to source every Northern need for every Northern industry.

CTR Northern has been working with Northern needs for almost 20 years! Seacans will be delivered to remote locations such as Coral Harbour, Rankin Inlet and Baker Lake.

Northern Business Development Manager Pat Hebert, CTR Operations Manager Nick Young and Northern Senior Sourcing Salesperson Mike Aney source the above requests all year long and the shipping season is every August and September. CTR is lucky to have such an incredible group of employees and amazing Northern customers to support.

Well today is officially "Fair Well Friday" at CTR....

For both Nadine Meakin, CTR Controller, and Heather Tardiff, CTR AP / AR, today is their last day at CTR. Nadine is moving into a brand new industry and Heather (well technically....a brand new industry as well...Motherhood! :)
