Shout out to our partner Mr. Glenn Gulak (our infamous Carrier Parts Specialist) who treated the staff with “Ready to Serve” Hot Chocolate Reindeers this week and in not ONE but in THREE flavors! We had no idea Glenn was so creative and crafty during this festive season, but we appreciate seeing this side of him? Glenn gave us the option of mint chocolate, salted caramel, or the OG - straight up old-fashioned hot cocoa. Happy Holidays to Glenn and his three little elves who helped CTR celebrate the season with these delicious and super cute beverages topped with marshmallows and chocolate / caramel / mint chips. YUMMMMM!

The Siloam is a deserving group and has been a part of Winnipeg’s culture for many years, here is their mission:

As many of you know, due to COVID, there has been an increased need for food banks like the Winnipeg Harvest as the number of people who have required such resources has drastically increased. This fall CTR has proudly collected and donated $700 worth of canned goods and non-perishable food items to the Winnipeg Harvest. Good work CTR!!! 

Winnipeg Harvest in a non-profit community based organization that collects food for people who are hungry and the also offer training programs for people to set up and build a life out of poverty. Founded in 1984, the Harvest’s doors opened July 1, 1985, and since then has joined forces with over 300 food banks and agencies including daycares and schools.

Shout out to the Harvest. Your team is amazing and our community is very fortunate to have people like you to make sure our community is taken care of. Thank you for your continuous efforts!

Friday October 30^th was a spooky day at CTR! We had witches, cats, Superheroes and monsters came in all shapes and sizes to join us for our festivities! We started the day with a staff pumpkin carving contest for both customers and employees to cast their votes which was then followed by a wonderful lunch from Soups, Sandwiches & More!

Congratulations to Johnathan for winning best pumpkin and for coming disguised as a “Stranger Thing”!

Costume shout outs go to Vicki (our cowgirl), Colleen (our belly dancer), Christine (our witch) and to Trish (tribute to our driver Bob). It was a fun day!!!

Introducing Mike Aney!

Mike is our CTR Northern Star of the Month!

Mike started with CTR in the spring of 2013 and has become a key player over the years. Mike came to us with over 20 years of automotive and industrial sourcing skills and experience. Mike started his career in parts picking, shipping and receiving and external outbound sales before finding his permanent role in an internal sales position at CTR.

When Mike joined CTR he was predominantly auto / industrial focused, but he has turned his full attention to our Northern needs to support communities in northern Manitoba, northern Ontario, and Nunavut. During his career at CTR, Mike has built strong connections with our Northern team members, suppliers, and valued customers.

Today we would like to thank Mike for his 7 (going on 8!) years of service. You are a front line and essential employee who is important for expediting customer's calls and emails to ensure their needs are met efficiently and accurately.

We would like to send a big CTR thank you to the Manitoba Trucking Association for having at us at your 2020 Vehicle Maintenance Golf tournament in support of scholarships for Level 1 and Level 2 Technicians. It was a beautiful day as our golfers hit the greens. We are proud to be apart of such an important event and hope our driving range game, prizes and $200 Visa gift card brought some excitement to everyone’s day.

One of our core values at CTR has always been continuous improvement. We extend this belief to our employees as well—whether it be in their careers or personal life. This past week, we hosted a Microsoft Excel Basics training evening for our CTR employees.  Focused on developing and enhancing CTR staff’s basic Excel skills, the training covered the ability to enter and format data, calculate totals and summaries through formulas, chart creation, and understanding the importance of keyboard shortcuts and productivity tricks.  The valuable skills learned for Excel are the type of continuous improvement opportunities we strive to offer our employees on a regular basis.  Continuously improving can seem like a monumental task at times.  At CTR however, we endeavour to make employee self-improvement as convenient and practical as possible.  We believe that growth, either personally or professionally, is extremely valuable. 

Already August has proven to be a busy month and what better way to celebrate a busy start then with a baked treat! These mouth-watering pastry’s came from Goodies and are this month’s birthday celebration for our August birthdays! Offering them to every department of CTR we strive to make our employees happy and reward them for working hard.

What a great big awesome day!!

Yesterday was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who participated and donated to the Children's Hospital Foundation (CHF). We are proud to announce (with CTR matching every dollar raised), we are donating $17,000 to the foundation!!! We had 691 guests, 22 suppliers, 9 food truck workers, 66 staff and 3 CHF reps here supporting our event. We are so grateful to everyone for your hard work and dedication to such a deserving foundation.

CTR's employee awards night was held May 9, 19 at One Great City on Ness Avenue.
