CTR Celebrates Thanksgiving with a "Turkey for a Turkey Draw!"

In honour of the wonderful season of Thanksgiving CTR held their 1st ever staff turkey draw on October 5, 2015.  Winner of the 15 lb Butterball was one of CTR's internal sales superstars: Wayne Dearman!  Congratulations you Turkey! Well deserved :)

Runner up to the big bird was CTR's accounting queen: Kathy Hominuk! Kathy was presented with a wonderful box of chicken fingers :) hahah....better than nothing!

Wednesday June 24^th was a busy day on Wall Street! As CTR hosts their 2^ND Annual Customer Appreciation Open House & Children’s Hospital Fundraiser and what a success!

Event highlights included 13 supplier booths, warehouse tours, live music and entertainment, vintage cars and motor cross bike displays, 20% off the entire store, an iPad door prize, a grand prize draw, an amazing silent auction – every prize valued over $400! Even the larger than life Dr. Goodbear participated in the event.

The event kicked off at 11:00 am, the sun was shining, the staff and suppliers were smiling and the customers piled in! Guests who came through registration were given a grab bag of give-a-ways and they were given a passport in which they were asked to take a trip around the world of CTR. Cheryl Wiebe provided music and entertainment while guests enjoyed lunch and refreshments.

Trish Seens who looks after marketing for CTR is still beaming from ear to ear:

“Our event mission was to show our customers how much they are valued and we wanted them to know we appreciate the support and loyalty they show our company. Our goal was to give them a memorable experience and I feel we were successful in our efforts! I am very proud to announce that we will be giving the Children’s Hospital Foundation a cheque for $4100! We DOUBLED what was raised last year, just incredible!”

The fantastic day was the result of CTR’s employees, customers, suppliers and sponsors. CTR would like to give a huge thank you for everyone’s hard work and generosity. Carrier Transicold was the event’s leading sponsor and Carrier’s Field Service Engineer Tracy Stromberg joined the CTR crew for their big day:

“The event was filled with great people and the great environment must have had something to do with the cheerful moods…or maybe it was the awesome prizes! I had a blast and I look forward to attending next year!”

A husband went to the sheriff’s department to report
that his wife was missing.

Husband: Never noticed.

Husband: Could have been a skirt or shorts. I don’t remember exactly.

Sergeant: What kind of car did she go in?

Husband: She went in my truck.

What a hockey season! Filled with mixed emotions, increased excitement and late nights watching the Jets push their way to a playoff spot.  Now that the Jets are out the water cooler conversations are a bit less animated and definately less passionate. At CTR the majority of us our Jets fans, we do have a couple of die hard Canuk and Hab fans but we don't judge ;)
